A place to discuss BIM (Building Information Modeling,) VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) and all the other acronyms that are sweeping the AEC industries. Yea, though I walk through the valley of BIM...

AU 2011: POINTKNOWN launches PKNAIL
Long awaited (by me at least) Point Known launches PKNAIL Pro yesterday at AU 2011 (how appropriate.)
To truly use BIM to full effectiveness there is a real need for accurate existing conditions capture. PKNail translates “…measurements directly from wireless laser range finders into a BIM workstation…”
With reality capture such a wide ranging topic, it will be interesting to see where PKNail fits into the continuum.
Now all I need to do is get a trial to evaluate.
POINTKNOWN is clearly NOT afraid of the Big Bad BIM!

Trial is up on the website. and thanks for the mention. Have to work on the D8 Loaner program.
Put me down as first in line for a loaner. ;)
I'd love to get my hands on this for a month or so. See what kind of trouble I could get myself into.
